The K Family marathon starts in November but I start panicking about it come August or September. This is the line up for 2010
October 25th: My Wedding Wedding Anniversary
November 12th:My husband's Birthday
November 23rd: My dad's Birthday (not a K family function but still we go out to dinner)
November 25th: Thanksgiving- to see both families!!
December 1: Father in law's Birthday
December20: Uncle in law's Birthday*
December 21st: Sister in law's Birthday
December 22nd: Cousin in law's Birthday*
December 24th: Christmas Ever fondue at Aunt in law's which is an hour away.
December 25th: Christmas- both families. Awkward formalities at in-laws, pj's and pigging out at my parents
December 27th: (appx): Mother in law has us come over so she can say good bye to her cuz we haven't seen her in FOREVER and she is off to Florida for several months.
*These two live out of state but sometimes they come up for the holidays but there are still many phone calls in between and EVERYONE gets their own party. This drives me nuts. I mean really that is a whole lot of family my stress level cannot take it, I lose sleep over it.
Now I don't want anyone to think I can't stand my husband's family. It is completely opposite. They are very welcoming. I just grew up in a family where my sister and I would place bets on how many out of our 5 aunts would forget to send a birthday card. So when I became a part of the K family the whole birthday celebrations and detailed holidays just caught me off guard. For someone who is used to 4 people at a Christmas dinner, a table of up to 14 on July 4th or a birthday can be a tad overwhelming. Especially when these dinners tend to happen within days of each other come the holiday season.
Which is why when I found out that my due date was December 20th I almost threw up.
